The RoleAs we continue to grow as QuidelOrtho, we are seeking a Field Engineer Education Specialist to join our Technical Training team. The Field Engineer Education Specialist (FEES) is responsible for technical and skills training for QuidelOrtho Field Engineers, internal customers, and Biomedical Engineers. The FEES will deliver technical training to students for highly regulated medical devices that require field-based repair. Training delivery will utilize Instructor-led, and virtual training methods. The FEES will instruct students in device theory, troubleshooting, e-Connectivity, disassembly, adjustment, repair, maintenance, device installation, servicing techniques, as well as proper and compliant documentation. This position will report to the Associate Director, Customer Enablement & Training will be located in our Rochester, NY office.
The ResponsibilitiesDeliver high quality instrumentation training to Field Service Engineers or customer biomedical engineers in a highly regulated environment on the safe and efficacious troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of QuidelOrtho products. Additionally, will be responsible for facilitating training for internal customers including, sales, technical support, and other QuidelOrtho staff as needed.
Responsible for coordinating and managing classroom inventories and supplies to ensure the delivery of successful training programs, in a cost-effective manner
Will maximize training outcomes by providing coaching, delivering Train-the-Trainer programs, and conducting follow-up activities with fellow trainers to enhance organizational effectiveness
Assist in the development of training content for new and existing products including continuing education materials with a focus on delivery using the latest technologies
Responsible for maintenance, repair, and modification of FE training equipment, including technical audio and video used to deliver virtual training
Participate on cross-functional teams and projects including, but not limited to: product development, service publications, written and online training documentation, and continuous learning initiatives for North America
Build and maintain sound working relationships with sales and service management at all levels
Perform ride-along activities with Field Engineers to identify and promote best practices and to remain current on QuidelOrtho products. May also ride with new Field Engineers to provide coaching or performance evaluation.

The IndividualRequired:Education: Minimum of an Associate's degree (Electrical, Mechanical, or Biomedical Engineering preferred) or equivalent 2 years experience
Experience: 3+ years of experience with troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining complex devices
Technical training experience
Knowledge/experience with new and innovative training delivery methods to aid in delivering programs to a large global audience
Must be knowledgeable in delivering technical training programs and using a variety of education modalities including web-based, online, and classroom presentations/programs
Experience with video-based training delivery and equipment
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
Autonomous & well organized
Travel: Ability to travel up to 30% domestic and/or international
Preferred:
Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining QuidelOrtho devices
Instructor certification on QuidelOrtho devices
The Key Working RelationshipsInteracts frequently with areas across the Company devoted to sales, customer service, technical service, product management, quality assurance, and regulatory. Key relationships with global QuidelOrtho Field Service and Technical Solutions Center organizations, Worldwide Service Engineering and other internal organizations requiring technical training.
The Work EnvironmentThe work environment characteristics are representative of an office environment. The position requires the ability to move about to set up and manage classroom environments, which may involve bending, reaching, and standing for prolonged periods. Travel up to 30% of the time, which includes carrying luggage and training materials, navigating airports, and possibly driving to various locations. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. May require standing for prolonged periods of time.
Salary TransparencyThe salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on that facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $120,000 and is bonus eligible. QuidelOrtho offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time) and paid Holidays.
