Field Engineer / Inspector - Electronics
UL Solutions' Field Engineering team is hiring! We are seeking a Field Engineer / Inspector in Gothenburg, Sweden to carry-out inspections on a range of electronic products across Northern Europe (Sweden, Norway, Finland & Baltic countries) If you like getting out and about, you’ll love being part of our Field Engineering team in Northern Europe. They travel to companies and manufacturing facilities across Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark and the Baltics to carry out risk-based inspections and ensure the integrity of existing certifications. During training you will be under supervision for the first few months, but once qualified as a Field Engineer / Inspector you will be home-based and independently execute the timely completion of assigned audit work. You will be conducting audits on (electronic) products, devices, processes, systems and materials onsite at various factories across Northern Europe that have obtained a UL certificate. You will be pivotal ensuring that all clients are using the UL Brand in compliance with the applicable technical requirements. Extensive travel is expected in this role, at least 60% of your time will be spent visiting customer sites across Sweden, Norway, Finland and Baltic countries. + Independently (once trained) conduct safety and non-safety certification audits and field evaluations in accordance with the required performance standards and requirements + Witness testing, including interpretation and analysis of the test results against UL requirements + Conduct quality audits at client sites + Verify the accuracy of manufacturers’ measuring equipment and reviewing production records + Examine documentation by using appropriate UL forms + Cooperate with other departments within the UL Solutions organisation for the successful completion of complex projects + You will have a technical educational background within Electrical or Mechanical Engineering + 2-5 years of technical experience in the electrical or mechanical engineering industry + Knowledge and experience within quality standards such as ISO 9000 is a bonus, but not essential + Flexible, independent and energetic personality with excellent self-management skills and process-orientation + Good communication skills and a customer-centred approach + Very good IT skills are required (documentation and reporting are performed digitally) + Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English is a must + Willing to travel up to 60% of the time with overnight stays.
