We are currently seeking a Field Engineering to join our Kitchener, ON team!
The Field Engineering is responsible for providing pre-deployment, execution and close-out to support Field Services Projects. Reporting to the Manager, Field Engineering, this role is regularly assigned to the appropriate Project Manager and Site Manager per project. Ability to manage mental stress while collaborating with diverse teams on complex technical issues, balancing conflicting requirements, schedule constraints, and working in a radiological environment.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Pre-deployment support:
Review technical specifications and scope. Interpret drawings and requirements. Interpret and apply CSA and ASME Codes. Review OPEX and Lessons Learned. Create quality documents and procedures. Create work processes. Create requisitions for labour, parts and services. Train trades and technicians. Interact with regulatory authorities and customer representatives.
Project Execution support:
Resolve all technical issues on site. Ensure quality program is followed. Ensure work is executed correctly. Provide technical oversight to trades and technicians. Raise and resolve As-found Conditions, Rework Conditions and Non-conformances. Process all document changes required. Ensure scope is completed.
Project Close-out:
Ensure all quality records are completed and signed off by all parties. Document and incorporate lessons learned.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree in the field of engineering (either the Mechanical, Mechatronics, Industrial or Nuclear discipline) + 3 years of industry experience. Working towards and already is a Registered Professional Engineer of Ontario. Proficient knowledge of Nuclear Codes ASME III, V, VIII, IX, N285. Proficient knowledge of Nuclear Standards N286, Z299, N299. Proficient knowledge of materials, machining techniques, field execution practices. Proficient knowledge of NDE applications and limitations. Proficient writing of technical reports. Expertise in technical English language. Working understanding of Human Performance errors and their prevention tools. Working understanding of Foreign Material Exclusion and the prevention practices. Ability to translate complex technical requirements and instructions into field executable procedures. Ability to train engineers, technicians, and trades in technically complex operations. Proficient in 2D AutoCAD (or SolidWorks). Experience developing work processes for first-of-a-kind projects. Proficient in executing work on critical path. Proficient in providing work direction on critical path. Understand contract and professional liability.
Security Clearance:
This role requires the successful candidate to complete the security clearance process. The security clearance process is conducted in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) and the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) and may take up to 12 months to complete.

The base salary range for this position in [[Ontario]] at the start of employment is expected to be between $[[71,000]] and $[[106,000]] per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
