Our client is an Oil & Gas Major, seeking a Field Environmental Manager for a major LNG project in Mozambique, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring environmental compliance and performance on site.
Role Overview
Lead and manage the implementation of the environmental monitoring program and associated permitting requirements on site. Oversee health and safety responsibilities for environmental team members. Manage Verification and Assurance Monitoring tasks on site. Supervise day-to-day environmental monitoring work by team members and specialists. Mentor and act as line manager for the environmental and biodiversity team. Communicate effectively with team members regarding environmental management activities. Coordinate with Contractors on environmental management and compliance. Perform project management tasks as necessary. Ensure QA/QC of V&A deliverables, including contractor Environmental Monthly Reports. Attend internal and external meetings as required. Assist in implementing commitments outlined in the ESMP and other relevant documents. Develop monitoring procedures and protocols in collaboration with the HSE team. Prepare reports and documents related to verification and assurance monitoring. Create training materials for environmental monitoring and provide training to personnel. Assist environmental team members with logistical arrangements and H&S planning. Support Company during audits by Internal, Government, Private, and Lender entities.Skills & Qualifications
Environmental Conformance & Compliance: Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance monitoring. Environmental Regulations: Thorough understanding of Oil & Gas regulations and permitting processes. Environmental Permits: Experience in managing environmental approvals and permits. Environmental Monitoring: Proficient in developing and implementing monitoring programs. Problem-Solving Skills: High degree of analytical skills to address challenges effectively. Cross-Cultural Competence: Ability to work effectively in diverse cultural settings.Education & Experience
Tertiary education in environmental science, natural resources, ecology, biology, or a related field. Minimum 10 years of environmental experience in the Oil & Gas sector, with understanding of relevant regulations Experience with IFC funded projects is preferred. Fluent English - written and oral essential; Working knowledge of French and Portuguese highly benefiicial.Pay & Benefits
