What you will be doing

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Administer medications (IM, SC and IV as applicable) in home or specialty clinic settingsSupport/monitor administration of IV infusion treatments in the clinic and/or homecare settingMonitor post-injection/infusion treatments as well as chart and report on all activities as directed by program protocols and standards of professional nursing documentationProvide patient education based on program protocols, individually or in groupsReport adverse events, serious adverse events, product complaints in accordance with Innomar training and policies & proceduresProvides reliable availability based on the agreed upon employment agreement to meet the needs of the IBU and the Nursing and clinics Key Performance Indicators.Coordinate daily with patients, case managers, physicians, scheduling and other departments to meet established timelines for scheduling appointments, treatments, and communication of informationPerform administrative duties such as monthly clinic audits, supply ordering and other duties as assignedParticipate regularly in team web-based meetings/training sessions with the Business Area Manager, RNE and Nurse Champion to maintain and enhance professional practice standards.Participates in specialized client related trainings as required.Consult with physicians, pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients regarding education and implementation of product specific programsRequired to travel within you’re designated IBU and surrounding IBUs to meet the operational needs.Required to follow all nursing and clinic standard operating procedures and Work Instructions.Required to follow all Health and Safety standards as per the provincial Health and safety Act.Required to complete ongoing and annual education training as per the training matrix within the specified timeframes.Adhere to professional nursing standards as prescribed by the professional associations, regulatory bodies and the company policies and proceduresPerform related duties and tasks as required by InnomarMay be required to be on standby/on call to meet the service needs.

What your background should look like 

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Registered Practical Nurse/Licensed Practical NurseExperience with IV therapy is an assetDiploma/University degree in nursing or related fieldCurrent registration with provincial licensing body; CPR certificateExperience in acute care inpatient/outpatient or homecare settingACLS, PALs, MS and CVAA Certification, and central venous lines/port experience are considered assetsKnowledge of Cell phone for making and confirming appointments/assignments and fax machines.Demonstrated excellent customer service skills in dealing with patients, physicians, and multidisciplinary healthcare teamAble to work autonomously with little supervision as part of a larger teamAble to travel to clinics and homecare appointments within a set geographical boundary

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Cell phone for making and confirming appointment/assignmentsFlexibility in order to provide services for pre-scheduled and occasional last minute patient appointment requestsEffective organizational skills; attention to detailAbility to communicate effectively both orally and in writingStrong written and verbal communication skillsAble to work in both a team and independent settingAble to travel within a geographical boundaryHold and maintain a valid, non-expired, unrestricted driver's license and insurance coverage

The successful candidate may have daily contacts with unilingual English-speaking customers, patients or peers from cross-functional teams.
