Overview TRC is seeking a Field Inspector II to support the delivery of energy efficiency programs to commercial and industrial customers in New Jersey. As a Field Inspector you will conduct energy analysis, site inspections, and reporting for multiple commercial and industrial energy efficiency projects and/or customers. Your strong technical capabilities, including knowledge of building systems, energy efficiency, demand management, green building and sustainability allow you to provide the highest level of customer service. You work collaboratively with the Advanced Energy team and clients to provide field support and implement market transforming programs that encourage energy efficiency. Daily challenges from a diverse range of projects found in commercial and industrial energy systems keep your schedule interesting. Your technical expertise, communication skills, mental flexibility, and excellent customer care skills are vital to completing client objectives and goals. We rely on your experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and perform a variety of complicated tasks. Responsibilities Coordinate and schedule site visits with commercial & industrial and customers. Confirm project scopes of work with customer and confirm that scopes match project applications and records. Conduct inspections to document existing building conditions, operations, and schedules and to identify potential efficiency measures. Conduct inspections to verify that the energy efficiency measures meet program quality standards. Provide design and technical assistance to projects and recommend relevant energy efficiency measures. Provide customer support with the energy efficiency work scope development. Provide technical guidance and support in addressing onsite issues. Develop inspection reports that summarize on-site findings and include photographs and action items to resolve discrepancies. Work with customers and contractors to resolve discrepancies identified on site. Communicate effectively with homeowners, business owners and contractors. Research and develop inspection protocols for new and evolving technologies. Communicate with energy efficiency program managers to inform quality assurance standards and mechanisms associated with the client Programs. Qualifications Eligibility to work in the United States Ability to perform field inspections in New Jersey with minimal travel time. Associate degree (Engineering/Technical Preferred), or at least four years of relevant experience. Demonstrated expertise in building science including mechanical, electrical, weatherization and/or solar photovoltaic technologies across a broad array of building types. Established critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills; Excellent oral and written communications skills; Team-oriented, hands-on, highly skilled, adaptive, and client-focused; Excellent time management and organizational skills Strong computer and record-keeping skills: proficiency in MS Office and use of Customer Relationship Management (CRM). Ability to work with culturally diverse customers and contractors effectively and respectfully. Valid driver’s license. Reliable means of transportation to facilitate site visits throughout the State of New Jersey. Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors. Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
