Field Inventory Controller – SPM Portfolio, Sydney

The Field Inventory Controller will play a pivotal role in managing the supply plan for Smith & Nephew's Sports Medicine (SPM) portfolio. This position shares the responsibility for the end-to-end planning, purchasing, and deployment of inventory to meet business demands and ensure optimal stock availability across Australia and New Zealand. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, the role focuses on strategic supply planning, inventory control, and driving operational efficiencies within the supply chain.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply planning, inventory
management, and stakeholder engagement, with a deep understanding of balancing market demands with inventory availability in a dynamic healthcare environment.
What will you be doing?
Develop and implement supply and deployment plans for the SPM (Sports medicine) portfolio,considering market trends, sales forecasts, and product lifecycle stages.Act as a liaison between Global and Local Marketing, Sales, and Demand
Planning teams to synchronize supply requirements and marketing
initiatives.Monitor inventory levels, identify shortages or excesses, and adjust purchasing
strategies to optimize stock availability across ANZ.Partner with Operations and Logistics to ensure seamless product deployment,
minimize delays, and align distribution with commercial objectives.Provide detailed reporting on inventory performance, purchasing plans, and
deployment execution.
Analyze data to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in the supply chain
process.
What will you need to be successful?
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or arelated field.3+ years of experience in supply planning, inventory management, or
related roles, preferably within the medical devices or healthcare industryProficiency in supply chain management software, advanced Excel skills, Excellent communication, and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
