The Field Medical Lead (FML) will strategically oversee a therapeutically aligned Medical Science Liaison (MSL) team and provide executive medical presence in assigned ecosystems, providing leadership, coaching, and accountability to drive individual and team results. MSLs are accountable for delivering and differentiating the immunology clinical value proposition to regional and national KOLs, key medical associations, as well as regional payers and IDN immunology stakeholders and decision makers.
In coordination with their Immunology Ecosystem Partnership Lead (iEPL), the FML will be responsible for developing and executing ecosystem-specific medical strategies aimed at ensuring the relevance of UCB’s immunology clinical value proposition. The FML is also accountable for leading strategic medical engagements with key decision-makers within large medical groups and IDNs to enhance UCB’s ability to: 1) effectively communicate unmet needs for patients and health systems in their management of chronic inflammatory disease, 2) engage with UCB’s clinical value proposition, and 3) generate actionable medical insight.
The FML will lead, inspire, and model cooperative teamwork behaviors that enables their MSL team to be accountable for creating and coordinating medical strategies and tactics to be executed in concert with iPVU team members of the local immunology ecosystem. The FML will provide strategic leadership and coaching that appropriately engages and integrates multi-disciplinary iPVU resources and expertise - to develop and expand medical relationships with key immunology micro-ecosystem stakeholders.
The job responsibility and accountability is inclusive of the following:
Coach and develop deep MSL strategic understanding of diverse immunology micro-ecosystems, interconnectivity of large immunology customers and local payer/IDN healthcare models.Coach and model high impact medical engagement, delivery and differentiation of immunology value proposition to immunology to key immunology ecosystem decision-makers.Lead and contribute to local ecosystem medical strategy and resource development with internal medical support to generate innovative immunology clinical value proposition content.Coach and model development of strategic partnering relationships with key immunology executive population stakeholders.Lead and model a deep understanding of medical influencers in each ecosystem.Partner and lead in concert with Sales Leadership, IEPLs, and Outcomes Specialists to create strong internal and external working relationships that define, and coordinate local strategic imperatives.Operates at the highest level of UCB compliance and professional standards.
