OVERVIEW:
The Field Operations & Safety Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing the operational, scheduling, and profitability functions across an average of 25 stores within one to multiple districts. Reporting directly to the Regional Operations & Safety Director, the Field Operations & Safety Manager will be responsible for managing and optimizing inventory integrity through the operational excellence of back and front of house operations. Your role will involve collaborating and closely influencing with cross-functional partners and contributing to the company's efforts in maximizing sales and profitability. This field position requires a dynamic and progressive leader with proven expertise in inventory management, store operations and strategic leadership maintaining a customer-centric approach while holding themselves accountable for delivering sales and profit objectives. The position requires 60% of overnight travel.
Scheduling and Payroll Management (30%)
Management of district(s) payroll to company expectations by reviewing dashboards and directing and coordinating activities consistent with the established goals, objectives, plans, and policies of the organization.Strengthen scheduling accuracy and effectiveness, especially peak times and weekends, to drive higher profitability, increased sales, and greater teammate/athlete satisfaction through direct influence and support.Ensure district(s) are managing payroll to company expectations to include tracking of approved payroll overspend and maintenance of overtime to acceptable thresholds.Subject Matter Expert for all elements of scheduling and payroll management, accountable for district(s) results of payroll and impact on overall P&L for the region.Core Operational Processes Implementation and Support (30%)
Effectively communicate and train to the importance of operational excellence in both front of house and back of house operations to the CSC, field, and district(s) leaders, i.e., Visual Merchandising, Store Operations, Human Resources, Loss Prevention, Inventory Control and Facilities.Lead the overall daily operations strategy by developing the vision and implementation of multiple processes, driving revenue growth that aligns with the top-line financial plan, maximizing profitability, and ensuring an exceptional athlete experience across all categoriesRegularly coach store and field teams (to include Store Manager, District Manager, and Operational Managers) on core operational processes to streamline sales preparation activities related to hiring and staffing, inbound and outbound freight processing, stockroom organization, and inventory management.Development of action plans and strategies through analysis of information related to back-of-house operations to address trends related to merchandise receiving practices, claims compliance, damage/defective management, transfer execution, mark-out-of-stock, etc.Inventory Integrity and Movement (20%)
Elevate inventory integrity to drive greater sales and profitability across the district(s) through execution of core operational and shrink reduction programs, including the development of store/district-specific plans designed to impact current trends identified through visits/metrics.Ensure inventory is flowing efficiently and accurately through the store and to Distribution Centers and Value Chain locations through operational excellence and address outliers to determine root cause for inventory discrepancies, putting plans in place to immediately remedy.Develop and implement strategies, near real-time, to reduce inventory disparities based off reporting from RFID scans, cycle counts, replenishment activities, and inventory adjustments.Trusted advisor to District Manager(s) and regional leadership teams to advise on inventory integrity opportunities that may have global concerns and recommend mitigation tactics that balance athlete experience with protection/mitigation efforts.Support store teams with inventory preparation, execution, and post-inventory research.Profit Protection (15%)
Develop and implement strategies that focus on Fuel for Growth opportunities that enhance District(s) profitability, influencing and supporting field leaders on implementation and follow-up with slow adopters.Responsible for P&L review and dashboard reporting to identify opportunity areas and develop/implement strategies that mediate the opportunities and drive higher levels of profitability; foster strategic alignment with district and store leadership to enhance profit protection efforts.Analyze information related to front-of-house operations to address trends related to POS discounts, returns/exchanges, warranty compliance, and MOS merchandise with ultimate focus on elevated profits.People Development (5%)
Responsible for supporting teammate individual development plans for career enhancement, progression, and personal growth.Identify and support the development of store management teammates with a desire to grow into store operations multi-unit roles (Sales Manager Reserve Corps).Educate store teams through active communication, conference calls, and meeting participation.Actively participate in self-development for improvement in current role and for future opportunities.QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree Preferred
Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required with commensurate experience.
At least 3-5 years of retail operations experience or related retail experience. At least 1 years of experience in a multi-unit environment is preferred.
