JOB OVERVIEW:
This position will ensure the Site Managers are trained and adhering to company standards and consistent project delivery. This position will conduct workshops, practical on-site training, and classroom sessions on construction processes, safety regulations, leadership, and project management for the site . This position will perform and demonstrate competency with construction means and methods industries. They must have the ability to listen and ability to build relationships with project supervision, construction teams, vendors and clients. Specifically this position will mentor, train, and develop site managers to ensure they meet industry standards, company expectations, and project requirements. The role involves creating structured training programs, overseeing professional development, and ensuring continuous improvement in leadership, technical, and safety competencies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safety: The FOM will support and honor the culture and a positive attitude towards our safety program. They will not sacrifice the well-being of people and a safe jobsite for the benefit of productivity. They will encourage positive behaviors on each project towards our safety program and protecting our people. They will endorse and support our motto of: "No business objective is so important that it will be pursued at the sacrifice of safety."
Leadership: The FOM will engage with the Site managers to create buy-in and gain the support of utilizing the company standards, means and methods. They will support the Director in developing professional and respectful leaders and managers. Providing Training and support to the SMs is the primary function of this role. Operational Excellence: The FOM will facilitate the development and implementation of the company processes and best methods for how a Solar PV facility must be built in accordance to design, specification, schedule and the cost estimate. They will help establish these methods and processes ahead of construction starting. Primarily, they will engage with the Site Managers to ensure those individuals are managing their projects effectively. Quality Product: The FOM will establish work methods and practices that produce a quality outcome the first time. Rework occurring will be considered a responsibility the FOM carries to ensure a root cause is found in these instances and training is provided to eliminate and ensure quality defects do not occur. We will honor our quality standards, engineering standards and quality methods that produce the product we promised. This role will focus on ensuring tha the Site Managers have a strong understanding of the companies quality program and are able to implement the program effectively on their projects. On time Execution: The FOM will establish our standards and methods in a manner that ensure an on-time delivery of the plant and communicate and train the Site Managers on these standards, while helping them be effectively implemented. Fiscal Responsibility: The FOM will establish our construction field methods that will ensure a predictable fiscal outcome for each project. They will train and mentor our supervision to understand their budget, man-hours, efficiencies and production on the job. The FOM will ensure mentoring of supervision on estimate breakdown, budgeting, planning, monitoring and forecasting. They will support in the process of ensuring the health of our projects and the proper utilization of labor and equipment resources to achieve that goal. The FOM will communicate and train the Site Managers on these standards, while helping them be effectively implemented. Talent Development: The FOM will develop the supervision and our greatest asset: our people. They will ensure this development through participation on the project site and providing feedback.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
10+ years of experience as manager in the Construction industry or related field. Demonstrated experience supervising construction crews or teams of people. Solar construction project experience required in civil, structural, mechanical and electrical. Ability to read and follow blueprints and specification documents. Demonstrated ability to lead medium to large teams (10-50 people). Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the workplace. Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.). Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.). Extensive travel required.BENEFITS AND PAY:
