Field Operator
**Position Purpose** About the Opportunity: The Shell Canada team is seeking a Field Operator to join their team. The Field Operator is responsible for daily operations of field-based gas and water infrastructure including wells, well pads, and pipelines. This team member is responsible for proactive outside monitoring and administering permit to work and safe isolation work processes. **Responsibilities:** + Ensure Field Based utilities and gathering systems are at optimum in regard to safety, production, and meeting environmental standards + Provide a safe work environment for maintenance and support teams + Maintain a good working relationship with all support groups for activities within their area + Ensure that all shift requirements have been completed (ESP, Daily Orders, PTW, LOTO, Deferment, PTM, and Shift Handover) + Educate on and Follow the 9 Life Saving Rules + Champion the living programs within the Groundbirch HSSE system to promote Safety Culture, PIPE, PAUSE, UAC/NM, FIM, PTW + Display visual Safety Leadership for field, plant, maintenance and contract personnel + Carry out audits to ensure Safe Work Permits and entering Impact reports (NM, UAC, PI, LOPC) are executed according to standards + Ensure any changes to blind sheets, car seals, lock out tags are complete and up to date + Ensure that the appropriate level of attention/emphasis is given to all safety considerations during operations and maintenance activities + Ensure 100% compliance to safety meetings, for schedule and quality + Maintain a good working knowledge of the Groundbirch Emergency Response plan and a clear understanding of personal duties as specified in the ERP manual + Responsible to ensure housekeeping is maintained to an acceptable standard in their area + Maintain familiarity with Groundbirch on call plan and notification procedures + Participate in and conduct mock safety drills as per schedule + Ensure full crew participation in the Hazardous Task Analysis process + Ensure that proper notifications are in place with regulatory agencies upon environmental exceedances and flaring as per the regulatory Guidelines + Identify ways to optimize field and plant production as well as cost saving initiatives + Ensure the accuracy of PTM, SCADA, chemical inventory sheets + Ensure that logbooks are maintained, dated and signed + Manage daily updates to the Wells and Water Supervisor on all planned or unplanned activities + Optimize equipment and facilities to maximize production and minimize costs safely **Skills & Requirements** + Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer + Grade 12 diploma + 2+ years of related experience + Valid BC Driver’s License + Must be willing to work a 7 on/7 off schedule, rotating between days and nights, 12 hours a day
