Field Packaging Integrator
Act as a liaison between the Plants, Quality, Procurement and Packaging Engineering teams to ensure packaging shipments/deliveries, storage, pre-production staging and equipment capabilities / runability are within specification and to standard. Manages and takes the lead in all packaging inventory holds and escalates any issues to the Procurement and Packaging Engineering teams as needed. + Inspect (based on inbound quality strategy) inbound packaging deliveries, and audit to ensure packaging is within specifications. Educate Warehouse and Plant Employees on proper handling and storage of packaging, and how to conduct quality inspections. Manage COAs and COCs, and institute recordable data on supplier quality adherence. + Drive root cause analysis processes to improve machine downtime. Understands mechanical systems and manufacturing processes at Wells, as well as what drives key metrics. Actively works on preventative measures to ensure optimal performance of production line equipment as it relates to packaging. + Demonstrates technical abilities of manufacturing equipment; is a technical resource for the maintenance crew and internal customers. Is well versed with troubleshooting ice cream manufacturing equipment. Can give production and maintenance crew technical direction on corrective and preventative actions. + Conduct periodic audits to ensure packaging is stored and handled according to spec. As necessary, conduct pre-inspection of packaging as it is staged for production to ensure quality has been maintained and is in spec to function properly with designated production line equipment. + Help troubleshoot packaging runability issues on equipment to include understanding equipment capabilities and possible adjustments that can be made to run packaging. + Packaging Representative / Liaison in the plant to help troubleshoot packaging related issues with the plant. Main point of contact, on call, to address issues with packaging runability on Wells manufacturing equipment. + Is consistently a key leader to the organization, through influence. Mentors and coaches mechanics and production operators through on-the-job training, organizing tasks and projects. Is a role model for conducting inspections and condition-based monitoring programs. + Manage Inventory Holds for Packaging and escalate issues to Procurement and Packaging Manager so they can resolve quality issues with suppliers.
