The Field Safety Specialist is responsible for implementing and enforcing safety programs, policies, and procedures, fostering a culture of safety and operational collaboration, building capacity into our work using controls, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The Specialist plays a hands-on role in identifying, assessing, preventing, and mitigating safety risks associated with field operations. This position will assume responsibility for an assigned area, explicitly focusing on field safety leadership. The Field Safety Specialist position will report to the Regional Safety Manager or another designated department senior manager. **What Do You Offer Us:** + Ability and willingness to be in the field with crews. + Ability to manage time wisely and prioritize daily and weekly schedules based on operations field activities. + Communicate and train field personnel on safety guidelines and best practices. + Conduct regular safety inspections of equipment and work sites to identify potential hazards. + Collaborate with operations teams to address and rectify safety concerns. + Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to identify root causes and contributing factors. + Assist in developing and delivering safety training programs for field personnel. + Ensure that employees are aware of and trained on the latest safety procedures. + Act as a liaison between field personnel, safety management, and other relevant departments. + Maintain accurate records of safety-related activities and incidents and training. + Prepare and submit reports on safety performance and compliance. + Make recommendations for enhancing safety measures based on audit findings. + Encourage employees to identify and address unsafe behaviors. + Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging safety technologies. + Present positive solutions when addressing problems and actively contribute to being a part of the solution. + Conduct area- and job-site-level evaluations based on event trending, lagging/leading indicators, and safety needs identified by the area safety manager or other department senior managers. + Provide area-level safety leadership and actively promote a positive safety culture as assigned. + Participate in parent company-level safety evaluations across the organization and coordinate feedback on corrective actions to the Area Safety Manager and Operations Manager. + Participate in After-Action Review (AAR) calls relevant to events occurring within the assigned area and coordinate follow-up actions. + Review weekly Ops Reports with the Area Safety Manager for safety planning purposes. + Assist with training instruction and scheduling as directed by the Area Safety Manager or senior safety staff. + May assist with or lead special projects as assigned related to organization-wide safety matters. + Aid in root cause identification, investigations, and case management within the assigned area. + Complete a monthly expense report for the company Purchasing Card, adhering to set departmental guidelines, and submit Purchase Card activity monthly to the Area Safety Manager. + Coordinate, manage, and respond to OSHA agency-level audits as directed by the Area Safety Manager or other department Senior Managers. + Collaborate on support efforts with the Area Safety Manager. + Report daily safety experiences and inaccuracies in the daily plan to the Area Safety Manager. + As assigned by the Area Safety Manager, ensure that investigations, corrective actions, and safety planning are purposeful, complete, and well-supported. + Ensure timely notifications for serious events are made to the Area Safety Manager and operational leaders. + Fulfill all other assigned responsibilities by the Area Safety Manager or designated department senior manager. **What We Offer You:** + Paid on-the-job technical and professional training. + Defined career path for future growth. + Salary: $70,000 to $75,000 annually based on experience and certifications. + Industry-leading benefits: health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life and disability insurance, paid time off (PTO), and 401(k). + Company vehicle and fuel card. **Requirements:** + A minimum of three years of gas installation/distribution experience, or two years in a construction or industrial safety-related role, or a recognized safety certification or degree. + Maintain and enhance knowledge in gas distribution, pipeline, and underground electric safety. + Must be able to travel nationwide or regionally, including mandatory monthly travel to all assigned areas. Overnight travel is required as needed to support position responsibilities and duties. + Uphold professional interaction, appearances, and communication at all levels of the organization. + Preferred qualifications include continued professional development and Quanta train-the-trainer certification. + Valid driver’s license,adhering to approved safe driving behaviors, and following all DMV rules and regulations. + On-call availability 24/7 or as assigned, including after-hours, weekends, and holidays. + Maintain a presence in the field with crews. + Ability to stand or walk for long periods with repeated lifting (Up to 50 lbs.), kneeling, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
