Role Overview:

The Industrial Thermal Management (ITM) team is growing across North America. as we work to grow and gain business across key markets (foundry, hearth, and ceramics – high temperature applications).

We are looking for initiative-taking individuals who can find new customers, and maintain and grow existing customers. As a Field Sales Engineer, you will contribute to our long-term business growth strategy. Candidate will be located in the western United States.

Responsibilities:

Balance new business development, customer growth and retention activities within a defined territoryNegotiate contracts, pricing, program implementationCreate and deliver customer educational experiences focused on growth Develop short- and long-term strategies and plans aligned with corporate goalsUnderstand industry, customer and territory trendsUse available tools and data to determine course of action within territory based on findingsInspect and monitor market conditions resulting in the development of strategic counter measuresIdentify customer gaps, concerns and goals that require a total Alkegen solutionWork closely with other business partners including customer service, engineering and productionAttend and participate at targeted industry trade shows and conferencesManage your business using a hybrid model of both travel to see customers and home officePlan in- territory travel up to 50% depending on business requirementsLive into behaviors driven by a focus on Safety, Ethics, People, Commitment, Customer Focus, Innovation, Continuous Improvement, Teamwork, Speed and Agility.

Qualifications/ Experience:

Engineering undergraduate degree required (minimum); Advanced business degree preferredMinimum 5 years in growth orientated business with measurable resultsTechnical, industrial and application product sales and experienceExposure to product development, production and deliverySelling to and knowledge of industrial markets such as aerospace, metals, LNG, ceramic and glass, foundry or high heat applications and processesMust have a demonstrated history of business development, strong negotiation ability along with a natural flair to work within teams, across business units and foster key customer relationshipsDetail orientation in both sales reporting, sales analytics and interpretation at the territory levelCreative problem solver who brings solutions to the conversation and situationWell-developed communication and influencing skillsIntermediate level of proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Experience “social” selling, digital promotion, creating presentations and webinars
