Field Service Diesel Technician
**DESCRIPTION** **Job Summary:** Diagnoses and completes less complex repairs to engines at the customer’s site. We are looking for a talented Field Service Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in (Elko, NV). We offer sign-on bonus, relocation, competitive pay and benefits! Will make an impact in the following ways: + Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop + Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools + Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles + Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies + Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products + Maintain own tools **RESPONSIBILITIES** In order to be successful in this role you will need the following: + Completes complex internal engine repairs + Performs engine overhauls unassisted + Detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components + Proficient experience with engine diagnostic software **QUALIFICATIONS** + Active daily participation in safety processes + Thorough documentation of repairs including recording unit information and detailed repair/troubleshooting steps as necessary + Working nonstandard shifts occasionally in support of business needs(nights/weekends) + Timely submission of service documentation. + Working rotating shift schedules in support of mining customer + Frequent communication with customers and supervisors when working remotely + Independent management/reconciliation of compony issues credit cards + Proactive scheduling of PTO/time off + Flexibility in short notice scheduling changes including out-of-down assignments + Attention to clean work habits at the end of shift and throughout the shift + Complying with federal DOT laws while operating company vehicles - including ELD devices + Professionally communicating/representing Cummins to the customer + Complying with management directives as needed in support of business operations. DOT - A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire - Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older - A current valid license is required for this role - This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations - This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical - 3 years driving experience - This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use -Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age **Education, Licenses, Certifications:** Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred) Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution Locally valid driving permit This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. **Experience:** Basic level field service work experience Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products Customer service experience **Compensation and Benefits** Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
