What will you do?
The successful candidate will install, maintain and repair Thermo Fisher's range of Electron Microscopes, Focused Ion Beam and Surface Analysis systems while driving customer allegiance through a high-quality customer service experience
Responsibilities and deliverables include:
Install, commission, maintain and repair our range of industry leading productsProvide training for customers and users on system operation and maintenanceCultivate and develop positive working relationships with customers, users and company personnelServe as the company liaison on technical matters for assigned systems and projectsComplete and submit field service reportsProvide feedback to product quality teamsProvide appropriate input in writing updating and correcting documentationAct as a subject expert and resource for trainingHow will you get here?
This position is ideal for an experienced service engineer wanting to be involved with a dynamic team and exposed to a constant variety of customer application areas.
Education:
Typically requires a university degree, or a combination of education and experience that demonstrate the required skills.
Experience:
2 or more years of professional experience in Field Service Engineering in Electron Microscopy or similar field is preferredCandidates with no experience in a Field Service Engineering with exposure to Electron Microscopy are encouraged to applyExperience in ultra-high vacuum and high voltage systems is preferredKnowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Strong technical, analytical and troubleshooting skillsAble to read and interpret schematics and troubleshoot electrical/electronic systemsAble to work with and repair mechanical systemsAble to troubleshoot and resolve PC and software issuesAble to balance multiple assignments simultaneouslyAble to set priorities and consistently meet deadlinesAble to work independently or collaboratively within a small teamExcellent interpersonal and written communication skillsAble to deal effectively with customers at all levelsOther Job Requirements:
