Job Title: Field Service Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to install and start up new equipment, or modify existing equipment at customer facilities to ensure proper operational functionality according to equipment specifications and scope of work outlined in the Sales Order or Field Service work instruction. The role involves providing on-site technical assistance to help repair equipment, reviewing equipment reports and documentation from customers and other field representatives to aid in troubleshooting equipment faults, and testing and inspecting equipment to determine the root cause of malfunctions. The position requires extensive travel across the US, with a primary base within 1.5 hours of the Seattle/Tacoma area.

ResponsibilitiesInstall and start up new equipment or modify existing equipment at customer facilities.Ensure proper operational functionality according to equipment specifications and scope of work.Provide on-site technical assistance for equipment repair.Review equipment reports and documentation to aid in troubleshooting equipment faults.Test and inspect equipment to determine the root cause of malfunctions.Service a cluster of companies at each location across the US.Travel extensively, with 80+ percent overnight travel required.Typically work 10 hours of overtime per week.Essential Skills5+ years of experience traveling to customers.Strong mechanical capabilities for installs, retrofits, and reading blueprints.Strong understanding of mechanical aspects.Electrical wiring, conduit, and piping for water and gas.PLC programming or troubleshooting highly preferred.Experience working on industrial equipment, particularly in the heat treat industry or with industrial size furnaces.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in the heat treat industry or working on industrial size furnaces is a huge plus.Candidates with experience on smaller type equipment, such as x-ray machines, dialysis machines, semiconductor, or telecommunications, are not suitable for this role.Work Environment

The position involves extensive travel across the US, with the need to reside within 1.5 hours of the Seattle/Tacoma area. Expect to be living out of a hotel Monday through Friday most weeks. The role typically requires 5-10 hours of overtime per week. The work environment includes working on industrial equipment, with a focus on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, and PLC programming or troubleshooting. The role is hourly with eligibility for quarterly bonuses.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $39.00
