Job Description

The Field Services Engineer is dedicated to resolving consumer quality field concerns timely and cost effectively.  This role will perform sample investigations to determine root cause and issue corrective actions while regularly interacting with internal and external customers. Field Service Engineers will have a specialty within one of the Fortune Brand companies.

RESPONSIBLIITIES:

Handling daily field returns for any of the Fortune Brand companiesDeveloping and performing standard and testing as required to determine facts regarding returnsIntegrating with the CAPA process to initiate long term corrective actionsMonitoring the field issues to ensure they are being resolved in a timely mannerWork with sales and transportation to gather and send replacement materials to end customerWork with vendors to ship replacement materials when appropriateServe as a point of contact for Customer Service and Sales Team questionsResponsible for field service remediation for onsite inspections and repairsIdentifying trends in occurrences of quality issues and creating a monthly report

QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in mechanical enginnering, physics, material science, electrical engineering, electronics, computer science or related field2+ years of previous experience in an engineering roleMetrology experience with basic tools such as calipers, micrometers, and comparitorsAbility to read and interpret engineering specifications and drawingsExcellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical customersAbility and willingness to travel 10-20% of the time

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

General construction knowledgeHubspot reporting and tracking proficiencyAbility to use ERP systemsProficiency in Wi-Fi, Z-Wave and Bluetooth technologies for device communication and integration

Additional Information

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is  $63,000 - $110,000.  Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
