Troubleshoots problems within project/program, providing analysis and solution recommendations. Expertise and work efforts are focused on the analysis of customer's business goals, objectives, needs and the general business environment to solve technical problems. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Reports to a Program Manager or head of a unit/department under limited supervision. This position will support onsite NIWC customer facilities in San Diego, CA along with some remote support. **In this role, you will:** The Field Service Technician will perform scheduled and corrective maintenance, integration, testing, field installation, and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment and systems. + Provide sound and seasoned technical judgement that follows company policies and procedures in meeting customer obligations. + Conduct mechanical and hydraulic maintenance and operation of all undersea systems and supporting equipment. + Maintain teams and systems in the highest state of readiness to meet US Government requirements. + Be able to document maintenance and operational activities in accordance with applicable procedures + Work within a team to resolve technical issues. + Formulate methods and processes which will increase safety, efficiency, and readiness. + Ability to operate Naval Small Craft such as 11M Rigid Hull Inflatable Boats (RHIB); may include holding a USCG Captain’s license. **Qualifications** **To be successful in the role, you will have:** + A current active Secret clearance. + High School diploma plus 5 years’ experience, including experience troubleshooting to the component level, technical certifications, training, or work/military experience. + Ability to problem solve during high stress environments such as field testing in austere conditions. + Logistics experience in the military - government. + Able to interpret mechanical and hydraulic schematics and drawings. + Proficient in the use of common hand and power-driven tools. + Fork-lift, overhead crane, and rigging experience. + Good communication skills and the ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment. + Able to work with minimum supervision under a variety of conditions. + A current valid U.S. passport is required. + Minimum 10% travel CONUS/OCONUS.
