Location/Division Specific Information

The Materials and Structural Analysis (MSD) Electron Microscopy business enables customers to find meaningful answers to questions that accelerate breakthrough discoveries, increase efficiency, and ultimately change the world. The M&SA EM business designs, manufactures, and supports the broadest range of high-performance microscopy workflows that provide images and answers in the micro-, nano-, and picometer scales.

Combining hardware and software expertise in electron, ion, and light microscopy with deep application knowledge in the materials science, life sciences, electronics, and natural resources markets, the worldwide Electron Microscopy employees are dedicated to customers' pursuit of discovery and resolution to global challenges.

Job Responsibilities

As an FSE Engineer II, you will:

Perform on-site scheduled planned maintenance visitsConduct on-site installation of sophisticated equipment and follow testing procedures to ensure proper working orderProvide flawless, top-tier service and support to our clientsSuccessfully implement and maintain advanced scientific instruments and systemsFix and solve technical issues with proven problem-solving skillsCollaborate with a diverse team to deliver exceptional resultsStrictly adhere to safety and compliance standardsConduct training sessions for clients to ensure optimal use of our productsPrepare detailed service reports and documentationTravel, often on short notice, to customer sites to resolve problems or support other field service personnelComplete and submit field service reports

Requirements

To compete for this role, you must have:

A degree or equivalent experience in Engineering or a related fieldProven experience in a technical or engineering capacityExceptional abilities in fixing and solving problemsStrong communication and collaboration skillsExcellent interpersonal communication skills; must have a professional working proficiency in EnglishProven ability to solve sophisticated systems and subsystems down to component levelThe ability to work independently and as part of a teamAble to read and interpret schematicsFamiliar with UHV phenomenon and technologyA valid driver’s license and the ability to travel as requiredPhysical requirements include the ability to lift up to 18 kg/40 lbs.
