Serco is currently seeking a Field Service Engineer - SME to join our collaborative team supporting the United States Navy, specifically the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic in Charleston, SC. 

 

 

NIWC Atlantic provides SME support for various shore-based Air Traffic Control (ATC) systems and equipment to the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR). An integral part of this support is the operation and maintenance of various ATC systems and related equipment within the NIWC Atlantic ATC Equipment Laboratory, the DASR Test Beds, and the provision of on-site Fleet CASREP and EFM Support technical assistance, as needed or as scheduled, at Naval and Marine Corps Air Stations worldwide.

 

This position will be on-site 5 days a week Mon-Fri

 

This position is contingent upon your ability to maintain/transfer your Secret Clearance 

 

In this role, you will:

Lead and direct the work of other technical personnel.Provide leadership for electronics repair, installation, maintenance, and check-out. In addition to the maintenance and upkeep of electronic systems locally, responsibilities will include traveling to various military facilities on short notice to troubleshoot and repair systems, when warranted.  Develop detailed status reports on troubleshooting efforts and repair methods utilized. Provide equipment training to end-users and electronics technicians as necessary.Collaborate with government personnel to ensure their equipment maintenance needs are fulfilled.Identify and implement improvements to existing service delivery processes to increase efficiency, ensuring compliance with organizational and customer requirements.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

An active DoD SECRET security clearance
U.S Citizenship is required A High School Diploma/GED Minimum 12 years of hands-on experience with aviation electronic systems/communication systems and experience with minimum three (3) of the following five (5) areas; Systems Requirements, Operational Requirements, Data Analysis, Test & Evaluation, and TrainingMust have formal technical training in Navy/U.S Marine Corps Shore ATC Radar or Communication Systems by either the equipment manufacturer, DoD, or FAA Must have effective interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills Must possess strong organizational skills Ability to travel up to 10%
