Your role and responsibilities

We are looking for a Field Service Manager to join our team at ABB Oy Marine and Ports in Helsinki Vuosaari. You will be responsible for leading our Commissioning and Field Service team who work with new building and service projects. Making sure that your team is properly staffed and team members are able to perform to the best of their ability is a key part of this role. This role is all about making sure that our customers receive world-class commissioning and life cycle services. ABB Marine's typical marine project deliveries include bridge control systems, power plant systems, transformers, propulsion systems and Azipod propulsors. Your team of commissioning experts will carry out commissioning on newbuilding projects. In addition to this, your team will carry out warranty, modernizations and maintenance work around the world.You will be mainly accountable for:•Working as a line manager for the field service team and managing and supporting them•Resource planning, recruitment and allocating engineers to new building commissioning’s and life cycle services are vital parts of this role•Ensuring safety, profitability, consistent quality and customer satisfaction•Ensuring that the team members have needed competences and trainings •Active collaboration with and growing of a partner network relevant to field work for global needs•Close cooperation with our internal customers and other Marine business units•Building strong relations within cross-functional teams

Qualifications for the role

Several years of experience in Marine Service business (working for example as a Commissioning or/and Service Engineer) or another relevant professional background is necessary in this rolePrevious experience in a line manager role is necessary in this roleA B.Sc. or M.Sc in a relevant field of engineeringAbility to work well both independently and as a part of a team, as well with customers Willingness to actively seek solutions Willingness to travel approx. 30 days per year Good Finnish and English skills are mandatory, other language skills are an advantage
