Summary: 

Must be able to handle all duties associated with General Craftsmanship. Knowledge and Experience with crane signaling and lifting devices such as hoist jack, cranes, slings, and chokers. Must be able to use various measuring and leveling techniques. Knowledge of metal types, cutting, and welding techniques, industrial equipment assembly, and troubleshooting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

Fundamental Skills:

Safety practices, including selection and application of personal protective equipment, fall prevention devices, barricades, warning, and signaling devices. Communication skills, including use of written, verbal, and graphic materials to convey information (i.e., written specs, blueprints, pictures, drawings, etc.). Proper selection and use of hand tools, small and large power tools, lifting and hoisting equipment, and measuring tools. Troubleshooting equipment mechanical and basic electrical system operation. Compile and submit detailed electronic activity reports. Develop and acquire travel plans including flights, hotel, and car rental.

Measurement Skills:

Proper selection and use of measuring tools and instruments, including tape rules, scales, rules, vernier and dial calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and levels.

Layout and Alignment Skills:

Correct application of optical and laser instruments, and measuring tools for establishing center lines and elevation, as applied to installation and alignment of machinery and equipment.

Metal Skills:

Fundamental knowledge of ferrous and nonferrous metals. Mechanical cutting, shaping, and fabrication techniques. Oxy-fuel and plasma-arc cutting techniques. Welding and soldering / sweating techniques.

Rigging and Moving Skills:

Selection and application of appropriate lifting devices including Jacks, hoists, forklift trucks, cranes, slings, and chokers. Crane Signaling. Mechanical Skills: Assembly and alignment of power transmission components. Fundamental knowledge of mechanical drive systems. This job is safety sensitive for medical marijuana purposes. All other tasks as assigned.

Education/Skill Requirements:

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the industrial or related fields. Job requires daily travel assignments and overnight travel for up to three weeks at a time. Commercial driver’s license a plus. Dependability – Follows through and does what he/she says he/she will do. Shows up for work on time and adheres to the established work schedule.

Physical Demands:

Personal Protective Equipment including, but not limited to, dust mask, earplugs, gloves, hardhat, respirator, safety glasses, work boots, and safety vest. Hand tools including, but not limited to, hammer, pliers, screwdriver, wrenches, and other tools. Lift, carry, and push/pull heavy item and/or equipment up to 100lbs occasionally, greater than 50lbs often, up to 50lbs frequently. Climb into and out of equipment. Ability to work in heat or cold, work outside, and work in high elevations.

Work environment:

Shop and field environments including, but not limited to, machines, tools, construction equipment, chemicals, solvents, dust, and fumes. Exposure to residential and commercial waste. Work in hot, cold, dusty, or wet environments.
