The Field Service Supervisor for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for the daily management of the field technical staff. The Field Service Supervisor will have formal supervisory responsibilities for a defined team of Field Service Engineers and may be requested to support the district with limited service calls and preventative maintenance (PMs). 

The supervisor models outstanding customer service through strong communication and collaboration skills both internally and with our customers. Core duties include building a technically strong and cohesive team while maintaining a strong partnership with sales to retain base business. Effectively ensuring the day-to-day operations of the field service team performs with accuracy and completeness in repairs, calibrations, instrument qualifications, and shipping & receiving. 

This position is part of Field Technical Service organization located in North America covering Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.

You will be a part of the Eastern Carolina team and report to the Senior Service Manager responsible for meeting and exceeding customers’ expectations while supporting sales and service growth. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: 

Lead weekly team calls to review customer issues, KPIs, and general team announcements. 

Lead by example and work to build the best team via employee development and by recruiting the best internal and external candidates 

Partner with assigned team and coordination center to define the best strategies to support our customers 

Drive a sense of urgency to ensure customer needs are addressed promptly with an emphasis on “first-time fix”, driving compliance and leveraging DBS to map organizational improvements. 

The essential requirements of the job include:  

High School Diploma with over 8 years of experience in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, robotics, and/or electronic equipment

OR a Bachelor’s degree with over 5 years of experience

OR a Master’s degree with over 3 years of experience

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

Ability to travel approximately 25-50% within assigned territory.

Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Ability to lift, lower and carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted (tools, replacement parts, consumables etc.). Candidates must be able to frequently bend, stoop, twist, turn, crouch/crawl, push/pull, and sit/stand for extended periods of time. Candidates must also be able to reach at, above and below shoulder level, flex/extend neck, have good hand, and finger dexterity.  

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: 

Previous Beckman Coulter Field Service Engineer experience

Supervisory management experience 

Troubleshooting and repair experience on medical laboratory instruments 

Office efficiency
