The Field Service Technician is responsible for traveling to customer locations across the U.S. (and occasionally internationally) to perform diagnostics, repairs, upgrades, and maintenance on a wide variety of ground support equipment (GSE). This includes servicing diesel and electric-powered vehicles, hydraulic systems, and electrical control systems.

This position requires strong technical knowledge in electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems for onsite equipment diagnostics and programming. Technicians will work independently in the field, often dispatched weekly, and are expected to provide technical support and hands-on service in a professional, efficient manner.

Please note: This is a Field position in that we fly you to the location where you will work for the week, and then fly you home on Friday. The right candidate for this role can live anywhere in the US, as long as they live closely to a major airport.

YOUR IMPACT

Travel to customer sites (approx. 80% travel) to provide hands-on service for the following types of equipment:

Aircraft tow tractors

Container loaders

Aircraft deicers

Baggage and cargo transport vehicles

Other airport GSE with ICE or EV platforms

Diagnose, repair, and perform routine maintenance on:

Hydraulic systems (including pumps, motors, actuators, and valves)

Electrical systems (wiring, fuses, relays, sensors, and control modules)

Mechanical systems (suspension, steering, drive assemblies)

Interface with PLC systems to upload/download programs, troubleshoot logic, and perform control system adjustments

Collaborate with dealer technicians via phone/email or on-site for troubleshooting assistance

Review technical documentation, manuals, and schematics to ensure accurate service procedures

Maintain detailed documentation through work order systems; ensure issue resolution and service reporting

Participate in OEM testing and equipment upgrades, as needed

Provide end-user product orientation and safe operating procedures at customer sites

Mentor or train junior or less-experienced technicians in-field when required

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or its equivalent

One (1) or more years of relevant experience

Ability to travel up to 80%

Proficient in:

Electrical diagnostics and repair

Mechanical systems and component-level service

Hydraulic diagnostics and repair

Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools

Ability to work independently with strong problem-solving skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Must be able to obtain a passport

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS

Associate’s degree in Diesel Equipment Technology or a similar electrical/mechanical discipline

Familiar with PLC functions and programming

Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)

Prior experience in:

Ground support equipment (GSE)

Construction or heavy equipment (e.g., Caterpillar, John Deere)

Diesel truck or EV maintenance

Marine mechanical systems

Physical / Work Environment

Must be able to work in a wide range of environmental conditions (rain, heat, snow, etc.)

Work may involve exposure to low-to-medium voltage electrical systems

Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when appropriate

Regular use of arms, legs, hands, and fingers to operate tools and equipment

Must conduct on-site job hazard assessments and comply with OSHA, LOTO, and site-specific safety protocols

Pay Range:

$50,400.00 - $77,200.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
