We are seeking a Field Service Technician to join our Field Service team. Focusing on Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) - Grinding Mills you will be responsible in playing a crucial part in performing and coordinating service activities relating to machines, spares and wears, and providing customers with technical services in conjunction with sales. In this position, you will report to the Senior Service Manager. This role will allow opportunities to gain experience and training on Flotation and Thickeners.

 

Team you belong to:

You will join a team of high achieving Service Technicians dedicated to providing technical liaison services between customers, product divisions and sales personnel.

 

What you’ll do:

Provide hands-on mechanical service work in the field to Metso customers.

Perform technical evaluations and analyse equipment and machine component failures.

Promote products and services to customers

Promote the sales of OEM spare parts and wears material components

Supervise and oversee Field Service projects on customer sites

Prepare post site reports, time sheets and expenses after site visits

Support quotation work by providing scope of work, initial planning and costing information

Promote Technical Support value add and support Technical Support Teams

Support warranty process and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) where applicable

Identify equipment in the field at the customer site that is not in our installed base, trigger data basic data input into CRM

 

Who you are:

A Mechanical trade qualification from college or technical school; or three to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience in the Mining industries working with Grinding Mills, and ideally Flotation and Thickeners.

Task experience to include but not limited to: Drive line installation and alignment, gearbox replacement.

Basic rigging and dogging understanding desirable.

Basic computer literacy in MS Office – Word and Excel

Must have current motor vehicle license and passport.

Must be able to pass random medical and drug tests.

Ability to read and interpret hydraulic and mechanical schematics.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to travel within short notice.

Experience in the usage of databases and MS Project.
