We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Engineering Technician to join our Advanced Product Development team.
In this hybrid role, you will dedicate approximately 30% of your time to performing field service technician duties and the remaining 70% supporting our engineering product development initiatives.
You will work closely with electro-mechanical product design engineers and other departments within the MIC to bring innovative solutions from concept to reality, providing valuable technical support throughout the development process.

Key Responsibilities:
Field Service Technician (Around 30% of the time):
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues with door systems in the field, providing hands-on support to ensure smooth operation of our products.Supplement customer support team for remote troubleshooting, advanced problem solving and support.Support creation and maintaining of a troubleshooting guide and playbook.Support the continuous improvement loop by regularly updating documentation based on experiences with the product and customer feedbackCollect field data and feedback from customers to communicate to the Engineering team for product improvements.Engineering Technician (Around 70% of the time):
Collaborate closely with electro-mechanical product design engineers to assist with the design, prototyping, and testing of new products.Assemble, calibrate, and validate prototypes, ensuring that they meet design specifications and functional requirements.Perform detailed testing of electro-mechanical components, recording data, and preparing reports for analysis by the engineering team.Support the transition of products from development to production by developing and refining assembly instructions, test procedures, and technical documentation.Maintain and organize laboratory equipment, tools, and materials to support a smooth workflow in the development environment.Create and update technical documentation, such as schematics, assembly instructions, and test procedures.Provide technical insight and suggestions for design improvements to enhance product performance, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.Qualifications:
Associate degree or higher in Engineering disciplines of Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent experience.Preferred Skills and Experience:
Experience as working in a customer facing technical support and troubleshooting roleExperience with prototype assembly, testing, and technical documentationSome experience with test methods and test standards (ASTM, ANSI, WDMA, etc.) of engineered components (performance, environmental, regulatory testing).Familiarity with the product development lifecycle and quality control processes.Knowledge of mechanical or electrical systems and an aptitude for learning new technologies.Proficiency in using engineering software and tools is a plus.Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently in the field.Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers and internal teams.Provides leadership, discipline, and support to ensure the highest level of Safety, Housekeeping (5S), and professionalism within the testing departmentExperience working in a cross-functional team environment.Ability to travel up to 20% of the time to support field service operations.#LI-DB1 #LI-ONSIT
