Field Service Technician
Duties and Responsibilities:
Field Operations:
Perform outage and outage related activities for the training, preparation, execution, and closeout of outage projects to include, but not limited to, Perform non-outage related activities such as customer or Westinghouse equipment refurbishment or repair, component upgrades, or troubleshooting at both customer and Westinghouse sites Perform all assigned tasks under general supervision, with a high degree of quality, and within the parameters of qualified procedures and guidelines. Maintain a high level of attention to detail and document all quality related issues. Develop, promote, and exercise team‐building skills with peers, supervisors, contactors, customers, and other Westinghouse departments. Demonstrate good customer sensitivity and customer service skills. Develop and maintain a focus on creative problem solving. This position requires extensive travel, maintenance of “Unescorted Access” status, maintain adherence to the “fitness for duty” program, and working with hazardous materialsTraining
Participate in performance‐based training programs to acquire qualifications and certifications as well as keep current with technology. Participate in formal training to expand knowledge areas, skills, and expertise. Participate in on-the-job training in the field. Participate in safety training to acquire the skills and knowledge to perform work in hazardous environments and operate safety equipment and systems. Learn, understand, and practice Human Performance Tools, INPO Principals, Industrial Health & Safety, and ALARA principals, specific security requirements, and the importance of observing both Westinghouse and customer license requirements. Participation and contribution of safety observations. Acquire, comprehend, and apply Nuclear Culture Safety requirementsLeadership
Demonstrate the skills and ability to perform assigned job tasks independently. Travel, access power plants, and interact with customers autonomously. Supervise assigned projects and small teams with predetermined goals, demonstrating leadership skills
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent, post high school degree/certificate or equivalent experience preferred
3-5, nuclear experience preferred
General knowledge of nuclear power plant operations, maintenance, and outage operations.
Specific knowledge and training in electrical, electronic, or mechanical systems and curriculum as required, as well as knowledge of mathematics.
Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new systems, processes, and procedures.
Practitioner in a predetermined qualification or certification program
