A Field Service Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing equipment and systems at customer sites. This role requires a blend of technical knowledge, troubleshooting skills, and customer service to ensure equipment operates effectively and clients are satisfied with the service provided.
Job Responsibilities:
Installation: Set up and configure equipment or systems according to customer specifications and technical guidelines. Test equipment post-installation to ensure proper functionality.Maintenance: Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure equipment remains in good working order. Identify wear and tear or potential issues to avoid downtime and prolong equipment lifespan.Troubleshooting and Repairs: Diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions or failures. This often involves using diagnostic tools, interpreting technical documentation, and applying problem-solving skills to restore equipment to optimal working conditions.Customer Interaction: Work closely with customers to explain technical issues, provide instructions on using equipment, and answer questions about maintenance or operational procedures. Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.Documentation: Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, maintenance, and parts used. Prepare and submit service reports as required.Safety Compliance: Adhere to all relevant safety standards and protocols, especially when working with hazardous equipment or materials.Inventory Management: Keep track of tools, equipment, and parts needed for various tasks, ensuring they are stocked, maintained, and ready for use.Continuous Learning: Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to ensure services provided are current and effective.Skills and Qualifications:
Troubleshooting Skills: Ability to quickly assess issues and devise effective solutions.Safety Awareness: Knowledge of industry safety standards and practices.Customer Service: Strong interpersonal skills to communicate clearly and professionally with customers.Documentation Skills: Attention to detail in maintaining accurate records and service logs.Must Be 21 Years of Age and have valid N.C. Driver’s license Must Be Able to Work Independently and possess strong time management skillsAbility to work in small spaces such as basements and crawl spacesMust be able to stoop, squat, bend, crawl, twist, climb, and use range of mobility frequentlyMust be able to lift or slide (with assistance) 400+ pounds into and out of dwellingsAbility to use a tablet, laptop, or company issued software to document work orders, etc.
