Field Service Technician

Role Summary:
The Field Service Technician (FST) plays a critical role in installing, commissioning, monitoring, troubleshooting, and repairing Flowserve’s pumps, seals, and other equipment across various industries, including oil and gas, chemical, nuclear, coal, and wastewater. This role requires providing real-time technical support, recommending repairs, upgrades, and equipment replacements, and implementing solutions at customer sites. Representing Flowserve as the face of the company, the FST ensures exceptional customer service and contributes to the long-term success of our products and services.

Responsibilities:

Provide on-site service support in response to customer requests.

Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues promptly and efficiently.

Work collaboratively with customer personnel and lead work crews when required.

Oversee the full repair process, including disassembly, cleaning, inspection, repair, and reassembly.

Ensure timely and successful installation of equipment, conducting performance assessments during and after start-up.

Monitor and maintain the performance of Flowserve equipment to ensure operational efficiency.

Train customers on the correct operation and maintenance of Flowserve products.

Collaborate effectively with internal teams such as repair centers, customer service, and sales engineering.

Maintain accurate documentation, including daily reports, job records, and time/materials tracking.

Communicate and uphold Flowserve’s commitment to ethics, safety, and quality standards.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Strong knowledge of industrial applications and operations involving pumps, valves, seals, actuators, and mechanical equipment.

Experience in installing mechanical equipment and repairing pump systems.

Skilled in installing mechanical seals and replacing seal faces, gaskets, and O-rings.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and schematics accurately.

Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Availability to travel globally and work extended hours, including overtime, as required.

Physically capable of frequent lifting (up to 50 lbs/25kg), climbing ladders, and accessing equipment in diverse environments year-round.

Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Must possess a local trade qualification or its equivalent.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

Professional certifications relevant to the field.

Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams in unfamiliar settings.

Excellent organizational and communication skills.
