Field Service Technician

Job Overview:

Linde is seeking a motivated and experienced Onsite Service Technician responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of oxygen and nitrogen producing plants located on customer sites. This role is responsible for meeting plant performance goals, which include such categories as maintenance, troubleshooting/repair, process operation, site organization, customer billing, and record keeping . This role requires independent decision-making and time management skills, and the ability to develop solutions to complex problems and to lead the technical/project work required to implement said solutions. Responsibilities:

Maintain safety, quality, and compliance activities at each assigned plant location.Perform routine maintenance and calibrations on a variety of industrial plant equipment (compressors, valves, transmitters, analyzers, etc.).Troubleshoot and diagnose plant operational issues.Manage site operations with minimal supervision to meet product specifications and production efficiency standards.Coordinate contractors and resources, both internal and external to Linde, to support plant maintenance and to meet safety, quality, and production standards.Review and interpret process instrumentation diagrams and schematic wiring diagrams.Complete self-guided training assignments and activities to advance comprehension of the position’s responsibilities.Manage procurement/purchasing to meet maintenance budget goals.Maintain a safe, clean, and organized facility.Drive a service truck up to 2 to 3 hours per day and up to 8 hours on occasion.Per scheduled time periods (intermittently 1-2 times per month), provide backup plant coverage and outage/turnaround support for other technician operated locations.Occasionally assist or direct the training and development of new employees.

High school diploma required, associate degree in a technical field preferred.Experience in air separation plant technology, compressors, pumps, and/or process/manufacturing operations is preferred.Mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting aptitude required.Background in instrumentation, including the ability to measure, control, and analyze variables using specialized mechanical or electronic devices.Must be on call during weekdays and for weekends (weekends are paid); coverage rotates among area personnel.Must occasionally travel overnight for training and operations support activities.Must be able to push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 75 pounds.
