Field Service Technician
**Job Title: Field Service Technician** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled Field Service Technician specializing in shipboard cranes to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience with both electrical systems, including PLCs, and mechanical systems, particularly hydraulics. This position involves working at various ports and requires availability for extensive travel within the US and internationally after a six-month period. **Responsibilities** + Perform repair and maintenance work on our product range, as well as third-party equipment if necessary. + Ensure work is carried out efficiently, accurately, and in a friendly manner. + Support management and the organization in necessary areas. + Ensure all activities comply with the Integrated Management System (IMS), QHSE, and other rules and requirements. + Professionally supervise and perform service activities, including refurbishment, upgrades, inspections, preventative maintenance, and corrective actions. + Work independently and continuously develop your own skills. + Provide information and write reports as required. + Establish and maintain good relationships with both internal and external customers. + Enable feedback from customers and the service market to reach the appropriate organization. + Stay current with relevant developments, routines, processes, and news in the business area. + Cooperate with the local service network. + Comply with all relevant safety and quality requirements. + Follow site safety rules, agreed working practices, and environmental requirements. + Recognize service and spare parts sales opportunities and communicate them to the relevant persons. + Support sales activities such as follow-up on leads and quotes while on-site. + Coach and tutor junior colleagues and trainees as necessary. + Be aware of the profitability in the department. + Manage subcontractors for specific projects. + Make decisions about commercial matters within prescribed limits for each project, as previously agreed with the Operations Manager. **Essential Skills** + Experience with electrical systems, including PLCs. + Mechanical experience, particularly with hydraulics. + Ability to work independently and supervise service activities. + Strong troubleshooting and repair skills. + Ability to read and understand schematics. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $42.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
