**Field Service Technician**
**Job Description**
As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for coordinating projects, attending customer and vendor meetings, and overseeing the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of machinery used in various industries including automotive, aircraft, medical, and bridge construction. This role involves significant travel and interaction with customers, ensuring that our equipment is always functioning at optimal levels.
**Responsibilities**
+ Troubleshoot, repair, and modify machinery accurately and efficiently.
+ Install, assemble, and disassemble machinery as required.
+ Clean parts and adjacent areas during repair processes.
+ Follow established tool procedures and maintain lockout/tagout protocols.
+ Conduct thorough preventative maintenance and generate reports within two weeks of service.
+ Coordinate closely with Sales and Office Staff on ongoing projects.
+ Obtain necessary approvals for purchases from the Field Service Supervisor.
+ Make redesign suggestions for accessory components with appropriate approvals.
+ Ensure readiness of parts and tools prior to projects, and organize tools post-project.
+ Pull, highlight, and mark assembly and parts drawings accurately.
+ Complete projects accurately and thoroughly, referring to machine drawings as needed.
+ Follow up with customers post-service and document results.
+ Provide excellent customer service and handle inquiries as needed.
+ Deliver or pick up merchandise from customers or vendors.
+ Create and modify documents in Microsoft Office.
+ Arrange travel and accommodation for overnight business trips.
+ Submit expense and field service reports within two days of return.
+ Report daily business trip details and maintain vehicle mileage logs.
+ Develop new vendors and maintain customer relationships.
+ Report any customer inquiries or complaints to the supervisor.
**Skills**
+ High mechanical aptitude and ability to disassemble and reassemble components.
+ Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and low voltage DC systems.
+ Willingness to travel at least 50% of the time.
+ Professional demeanor when working at customer sites.
+ Ability to work well in a small, tight-knit team.

**Work Environment**
This is a traveling position with up to 70%-80% travel due to increased demand for installations and servicing. When not traveling, you will work in a temperature-controlled facility with a team-oriented, tight-knit community. The in-house schedule is from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday. You will also have a laptop and desk space for in-house work and planning.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of MARION, Ohio.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.
