POSITION SUMMARY:
This role blends the core technical position with an additional focus on peer coaching & basic training, complex instrument/ application escalations, and Service project support activities. FST IIIs will spend time planning and executing preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibration/verification of instrumentation for Hach process and laboratory instrumentation. As part of routine Service scheduling, the associate may be the designated resource for difficult problems and/ or complex products. In addition, the FST III will assist in mentoring/ training actions, and project-focused activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Meets all essential duties and responsibilities of the Field Service Technician (FST) II role.
Creates followership through active demonstration of Danaher (DHR) core values and Leadership Anchor characteristics.
Demonstrates personal ownership and informal leadership in daily work management.
Responsible for the delivery of daily work excellence and high performance against established business metrics and related objectives.
Effective and consistent communication of company/department Service strategy and vision with leadership, peer group and cross-functional team members.
Actively participates as mentor of new hires, supporting immersion initiatives for successful solo contribution transition.
Demonstrated expertise managing high complexity products and customers.
Leads Field based training (basic and advanced) of new and tenured staff pertaining to instrument, application, and process management best practices and standard work adherence.
Continuously challenges inherent knowledge and capabilities to strengthen technical acumen.
Demonstrates exceptional customer experience delivery captured through an effective feedback loop.
Provides support on defined projects as part of development or identified business need.
Assists with challenging/complex problem resolution.
Assists with formal Problem-Solving (Technical & Process), as required.
Partners with peer and leadership team to meet personal and division objectives.
Focus on priorities and relative importance of responsibilities.
Travels as necessary for completion of job duties utilizing company vehicles and air transportation, including frequent overnight stays. (up to 75%)
QUALIFICATIONS:
5 or more years experience working as a field service technician
Associate/technical degree preferred or combination of education and experience.
Mastery of Preventative Maintenance (PM), diagnostics & repair on core and defined strategic/ complex products as required.
Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
