The Field Service Technician is responsible for inspecting and repairing instruments. This role needs someone who can work independently, communicate well, and analyze situations. The Field Service Technician also provides technical support to call center and internal teams. The Field Service Technician performs on-site installations, maintenance, and repairs on Topcon's eye care equipment and examination lanes. Written communication skills, such as making estimates and follow-ups within internal protocols, are important.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES
Troubleshoot problems, conduct maintenance, and perform necessary repairs on equipment in Field Service and Depot Repairs to ensure smooth operations.Answer and respond to service calls, provide support, and troubleshoot over the phone and via email to assist customers efficiently.Keep up with the advanced technology for new equipment and stay up to date.Engage in all training requirements required by the Company.Assist with the moving, installation, repositioning of machines and equipmentExcellent communication coupled with excellent customer service skills. • Collaborating with their team to identify and fix technical problem.Ability to work individually and in a team environment.Ensure proper documentation tracing for all activities, maintaining clarity and accountability.Uphold high-quality standards in all work and ensure that company targets related to part quality are consistently met.Take on special projects as necessary to contribute to the continuous improvement and development of our operationsThe ability to lift, push and/or pull up to 50 pounds.The ability to often bend, twist, sit, stand, walk, move boxes and equipment, package and re-package equipment throughout the work day.Must hold a current, valid, and unrestricted driver’s license.The territory that the Field Service Technician will cover will be Ontario.Education & Experience:
Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience.Previous experience as a field service professional or in a relevant capacity is preferred.High school diploma or equivalent required.
