Field Service Technician - Preventive Maintenance

In this role, you will be responsible for the daily onsite support of our customers.

Responsibilities include:

80% preventative maintenance visits at locations throughout the USA on our AVT product line of industrial camera systems.

10% minor electrical, mechanical, optics and computer repairs

10% assist with new installations

The work locations are at printing companies throughout the USA

75% air travel throughout USA, 25% local travel , Monday - Friday

Ideal profile

You have some experience in electronics or mechanics, military technical training or repairing equipment.

Electrical - you understand voltmeter, relays, AC/DC, fuses, electrical motor basics.

Mechanical - you are able to de/re-assemble and clean small mechanical and optical components

Computer - you have a good understanding of PC hardware and MS Windows & able to replace HDD, power supplies, network & video cards.

You are hands-on, customer-oriented and able to work independently

You are a good communicator and customer focused

You are able to lift 50 lbs. and maneuver over, under and around printing equipment.

WITHIN YOUR ROLE, YOU WILL:

Conducts service, repair and/or installation of Esko equipment at customer site, including laser optics, electrical and mechanical testing, in accordance with maintenance contracts.

Conduct operator training

Diagnoses system failures and determines most cost-effective solution.  

Escalates complex issues to greater level of technical support or quality reporting system.

May develop new customer service/product agreements.  

Responds to customer support calls within an assigned territory. 

Preventative maintenance

Field upgrades and machine software upgrades

Traveling up to 90% (local travel: 50% overnight travel: 50%)

Customer-oriented skills and with good ability to clearly communicate progress

Excellent record keeping (service reports and spare parts) and follow up

A hands-on, proactive approach and can work independently

Ability to work under stress of deadlines and down equipment

Flexibility to travel with overnight stays.

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.

The compensation range for this role is $27.00 - $31.00 USD per hour.
