Job Summary:
The Field Service Technician installs, commissions, monitors, diagnoses and repairs pumps, mechanical seals and other Flowserve equipment in various industries, such as oil and gas, petrochemical, steel, mining, sanitation, etc., depending on our customers' area of operation. In this position, the Field Service Technician (FST) offers real-time technical support at customers' plants and provides recommendations for repairs, upgrades and replacements of parts and equipment.
The FST is actively engaged in solving problems and implementing solutions at customer sites. Our team of Field Service Technicians is the face of Flowserve and we rely on them to provide world-class service to our customers, creating a lasting competitive advantage for our products and services.
Responsibilities:
Perform direct, in-person service calls in response to customer requests;
Assess mechanical problems and take action to resolve them promptly;
Work side-by-side with customer personnel and lead work teams as required;
Supervising the complete repair cycle: disassembly, cleaning, inspection, repair and assembly;
Ensure that equipment is installed successfully and on schedule;
Checking equipment before commissioning and start-up and evaluating performance during and after equipment start-up;
Monitoring the maintenance and performance of Flowserve equipment;
Guide customers on proper procedures for operating and maintaining Flowserve products;
Collaborate effectively with Flowserve support organizations, including repair centers, customer service and sales engineering;
Maintain and submit organized and accurate records, including daily reports, jobs quoted, jobs performed, and time and materials charged;
Other duties as assigned;
Requirements:
Mechanical Technician with active CFT;
Experience as a Field Service Technician in a refinery industry;
Knowledge of industrial applications and operations of pumps, valves, seals, actuators and mechanical equipment;
Experience in installing mechanical equipment;
Experience in repairing pump equipment, installing mechanical seals, changing seal faces, gaskets, rings, etc..;
Knowledge of mechanical adjustment by backlash and interference;
Knowledge of metrology and the use of measuring instruments such as pachymeters, external and internal micrometers, tubular micrometers, dial gauges and dial gauges;
Proven ability to read and correctly interpret mechanical technical drawings, cutting drawings and dimensional drawings of equipment;
Good Outlook, Word and Excel skills;
Intermediate English
An active driver's license with a good driving record is essential for the job;
Willingness to travel and ship, including globally, for long periods;
Willingness to work overtime as required to minimize impact on customers;
Proven ability to correctly read and interpret mechanical technical drawings, cutting drawings and dimensional drawings of equipment;
Desirable Skills:
Advanced English and/or intermediate Spanish desirable;
Professional certifications in this area.
