Role Overview 

Installation, Service, and support of Rapiscan X-RAY screening systems in Doha. This role will have primary responsibility for supporting all X-ray and Trace product lines of Rapiscan systems deployed in HIA/DIA project, mainly RTT/ETD and BPI.

Responsibilities

Working on Rapiscan’s Product Line:

Installation, commissioning and service support of Rapiscan’s X-ray and Trace systems in Qatar.Learn from the IT Specialists the Server setup and PLC engineers for integration and commissioning and become proficient. Carry out service site surveys prior to installations and professional site reports.Fitting, system diagnosis, troubleshooting and fault finding on Detection systems & sub systems, carrying out the repair, maintenance and overhaul as necessary elements of Detection systems and escalation for rectification of system issues.Documentation: Completing technical documentation including service reports, engineering change requests & inputting service data to a simple functional database, Ensure timely completion of Field Modification Instructions and Planned Maintenance, corrective repair and Service inspections documentation Carries out all preventive and corrective maintenance works and attends all call-outs. Detailed failure analysis activities, including investigation / reporting / resolutionSpare parts recommendations to management for different service levels or periodic service intervalsWorks on shifts pattern to support key customer siteMakes sure to submit service reports and non-conformance reports as required without delayGive regular feedback to Engineering, Product Line Management and QA as part of our continuous improvement programme. Take part in other departmental ad-hoc duties when required including special projects.Customer skills: Daily interface with operators, technicians and BHS managers on equipment status issues.Adhere to all Health & Safety requirements of the company and at customer’s siteSupervise a team, delegate work, and ensure it is completed correctly and as planned (with no penalties)Responsible for overseeing all activities within their shiftResponsible for all technical decisionsCommunicate with your peer supervisors Reach out to Engineering / PLM on technical matters when neededDevelop the team strength under his supervision and improve weaknessBe the focal point in case of requests or disputes Evaluate the team under their supervision and assess themFormulate and close a technical Incident ReportRaise Change Requests/Implement/Close as requiredResponsible for distributing information to team members and request permission from stakeholders (Duty Manager) to complete planned workAs a technical expert, provide recommendations to improve work and ensure availability of maintained equipmentAttend technical meetings upon requestReport to Service ManagerCompletes all scheduled maintenance within required deadlines.Documents all maintenance and repair work submitting paperwork in required time frameOrder, install, and return parts per regulationMaintain a safe/clean work environment and ensure company safety procedures and product workmanship procedures are adhered to.Effective time management and personal organization.Other Duties: Any other reasonable duties as directed by management. Qualifications

 

A strong communication skill with excellent written and oral ability. Able to clearly articulate both the product and process to any customer or programme stakeholder.Experience with installing, configuring and troubleshooting MS Windows based servers and workstations highly desirableKnowledge of high-end X-ray systems (RTT/ETD/BPI) or computed tomography a major advantageExperience programming PLC’s an advantage.Have excellent ability to trouble-shoot complex systems and logically work through problems.Must have experience in a field service engineer role.Flexible during times of change and reacts to project adjustments promptly and efficiently Willingness to travel extensively at short notice and stay for extended periods (up to one month) as and when required.Must be self-motivated and work well under pressure.Strong aptitude to learn.Ability to obtain airport security pass.
