Job Description SummaryAll resources, and logistics required to perform services and maintenance activities on customers' site/property. These activities contribute to, maintain, repair, and refurbish sold or existing products. Includes all types of maintenance service (preventive and remedial), manage maintenance facilities and field services engineering. Impacts quality of own work and the work of others on the team. Executes standard operational/technical tasks typically subject to instructions and work routines. The Field Services Specialist – Drives will provide direction, mentorship, and assistance to work group to meet assigned objectives. In this role you will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
Perform on-site installation of systems and equipment and ongoing preventive maintenance, repair and calibration after installationRespond to requests for emergency repairs and services to troublesome equipmentProvide technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives regarding installation, operation, calibration, repair and maintenance at customer's sitesDevelop and further expand technical knowledge and expertise, currently recognized industry standards for engineering abilityMaintain knowledge of applicable product line warranties and accomplish effective warranty administrationPlan, prepare and/or instruct both internal and external training programs as required, to impart and perpetuate field engineering and/or product knowledge in area of specializationPerform administrative functions; such as writing technical reports, ordering materials, securing quotations, preparing job status reports, reports to customers, time sheet and expense sheets on a complete timely, and thorough basisMaintain knowledge of the report system to the extent required for timely and accurate input of field information necessaryMaintain strong safety mindset to assure the executed work reflects the technical requirements within GE safety standardsMaintain knowledge to troubleshoot and provide routine maintenance checkout for wide range of equipment vintagePrepare timely and accurate technical reports for customer records and a reference for future outagesRequired Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited universityMinimum of 5 years of field engineering experienceAbility to work effectively with minimum supervisionStrong customer service mindsetPrior field engineering experienceStrong organizational skillsStrong oral and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal and leadership skillsPrior experience with GE, Siemens, ABB and Allen Bradley equipmentDesired Characteristics:
Ability and willingness to travel approximately 75% of the time, as requiredAbility and willingness to possess and maintain a valid driver’s licenseAbility and willingness to work remotely; as requiredAdditional InformationRelocation Assistance Provided: Yes
