Heidelberg Materials is seeking a qualified Field Superintendent. Reporting to the Operations Managers, the Field Superintendent provides supervision of the Greater Vancouver Ready Mix staff at Heidelberg Materials. This includes assisting with the supervision of drivers, and administering the safety, environmental, and employee relations programs for the Company. This position will be in the Greater Vancouver Area.  

What You’ll Get To Do:Direct supervision of hourly production workers including loader operators, concrete plant operators, labourers, mixer drivers, etc.Participate in recruitment, investigations, discipline, training, and daily work direction.Administer the safety program including monthly safety meetings, toolbox talks, etc.Ensure environmental compliance at designate locations as well as assisting with spill responses at job sites.Interact with key customers in the field regarding delivery and quality issues.Respond to public issues and complaints in the field.Who we are looking for:Post-Secondary education in Business or as a Concrete Technologist is an asset.Construction Safety Officer designation is an asset (will be required to obtain designation)Class 1 or 3 license is an asset.Minimum 7 years’ experience in concrete operationsSupervisory experience in a unionized environmentComprehensive knowledge of ready-mix delivery proceduresStrong knowledge of batching proceduresWorking knowledge of concrete technology and mix designsWork Environment:Role operates primarily a professional office environment but requires conducting business at manufacturing locations and job sites where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, and elevated noise levels.What we have to offer:Competitive base salary and participation in our annual incentive planHighly competitive benefits programsPension retirement savings plan with an automatic company contribution as well as matching contributionsOur pre-employment process includes reference checks, a medical screening, a criminal record check and a drivers abstract check.
