Position Overview

Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc., a Davey company, is seeking qualified applicants to fill a full-time permanent Field Supervisor Archeologist position in our Gainesville office. The pay rate for this position is competitive and dependent on experience with opportunities for advancement.

Job Duties

Responsibilities will include:

Management of archeological fieldwork including Phase I, II, and III excavations, archeological cemetery delineations, and archeological recovery of human remains Ensuring work quality and adherence to schedule and budget for diverse archeological projects from field survey to report production Preparation of draft plans and reports Conducting archeological research Assisting with proposals and interacting with clients, agency staff, and contractors Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include:

An advanced degree in Archeology, or a closely related field and at least one (1) year of experience in the management of archeological field projects Ability to work independently and with a team Willingness to travel (per diem and lodging will be provided on projects more than approximately 90 miles from the office) Physical ability to perform rigorous fieldwork in all settings and weather conditions Possession of a valid driver’s license Excellent written and verbal communication skills

 

Preferred Experience/Qualifications:

At least three (3) years of experience in the management of archeological field projects in the Mid-Atlantic or Southeastern region Applied knowledge of federal, state, and local cultural resource laws and regulations RPA Additional Information
