This role will be responsible for building and maintaining strong customer relationships while providing expert technical support and training for MiTek Component Manufacturer Automation Solutions. The Field Technical Representative acts as a consultant to the customer to improve customer productivity and overall business operations using MiTek's automated equipment. This role possesses a deep understanding of building component manufacturing principles and the ability to communicate effectively with clients to help them maximize the value of MiTek's Automation Solutions.This role will spend 50% of the time traveling throughout the West/Southwest Region of the United States to customer sites to analyze the location and the customer's equipment needs. A company vehicle and/or flights are provided.
Job Responsibilities & Requirements
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers.
Serve as the primary point of contact for Automation technical inquiries, equipment purchase plans, project managing plant upgrades and expansions, and ownership of customer satisfaction and retention.
Coordinate activities related to Automation quoting, configuration, layouts, order confirmation and readiness for installation.
Provide regular and consistent on-site technical support to clients, addressing issues related to equipment installation, functionality, and best practices.
Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate users on equipment features and applications, enhancing their overall experience.
Stay up-to-date with the latest MiTek equipment updates and features to effectively communicate benefits to clients.
Collaborate with the product development team to relay customer feedback and suggest improvements based on user experiences.
Assist the sales team in identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling additional equipment solutions or services.
Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, support requests, and training sessions.
Provide regular reports on customer feedback, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
Stay current and proficient with department processes and procedures.
Participate in opportunities for learning with senior team members.
Qualifications:
Associates Degree in related field required, equivalent combination of experience and education which clearly indicates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may substitute on a year for year basis.
2+ years of AutoCAD and/or Revit Design experience OR 2+ years of experience in the component manufacturing industry, with responsibilities in one or more of the areas: Production, Component Design, Software Support, or Machinery Support required.
Project management experience or firm understanding of project management principles preferred.
Ability to read and understand prints and schematics.
Ability to use small hand-power tools, including reading a tape measure with 1/32-inch increments.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong focus on customer service.
Additional Requirements:
Valid drivers' license and proof of auto insurance required.
Ability to travel 50% of the time using a company provided vehicle or flights.
