Job Description

We are seeking a Field Service Technician to join our team in Orange City, FL. This role involves performing field inspections and investigations to collect high-quality and accurate data. The position requires a lot of walking outside through various terrains, in extreme heat and cold.

ResponsibilitiesPerform field inspections and investigations by collecting high-quality and accurate data.Conduct manhole inspections by recording various structure attributes and identifying defects.Perform smoke testing and record defects encountered.Carry out night flow isolations by measuring wastewater flows during non-peak usage.Conduct dye testing, including dye water tracing and dye water flooding.Install and maintain open channel flow metering equipment for flow monitoring.Work in confined spaces, including sanitary sewer manholes.Essential SkillsMechanical/technical aptitude.Comfortable working outside.Basic computer skills.Ability to obtain and maintain a Confined Space Entry certification.Good technical skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh School diploma or GED is required.Previous skilled trade experience preferred but not required.Must be able to travel.Willingness to work in and around open sanitary sewer lines.Ability to change gears quickly if a project is canceled or location changes.Work Environment

You will work in a professional environment within an employee-owned engineering firm with a supportive culture. The work performed helps the environment by preventing cave-ins and sewage leaks/spill overs. You will have the opportunity to work independently, with tasks assigned and reasonable time tables. The culture encourages innovation and new ideas. The primary responsibility will be digging in yards to uncover water lines adjacent to the water meter to verify the pipe material.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
