You Are:

UST is searching for a Field Technician who will ensure the uptime and performance of all IT systems by performing regular maintenance and upgrades. Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software systems.

 

The Opportunity:

·       Manage, monitor, and support internal IT systems, including servers, networks, and cloud-based infrastructure.

·       Support network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewalls.

·       Provide technical support to end-users for both hardware and software issues.

·       Troubleshoot and resolve IT-related issues promptly and effectively.

·       Assist with the setup and configuration of new hardware and software for employees.

·       Ensure that IT systems are secure by implementing and maintaining security protocols, including firewalls, antivirus software, and encryption.

·       Monitor systems for security breaches and take appropriate action when needed.

·       Apply software patches and updates to mitigate security vulnerabilities.

·       Manage and ensure the integrity of system backups. Implement disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime in the event of a system failure or data loss.

·       Maintain accurate records of IT assets, system configurations, and maintenance schedules.

·       Prepare regular reports on system performance, issues, and improvements for management.

·       Document IT processes, procedures, and resolutions to improve operational efficiency.

·       Work closely with other IT staff to coordinate upgrades, system integrations, and troubleshooting efforts.

·       Communicate technical information clearly to non-technical staff. Assist with user training on new systems and technologies.

 

This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Other relevant essential functions may be required.

 

What You Need:

·       Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

·       Proven experience in system administration, network management, or a similar technical support role.

·       Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) and network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).

·       Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

·       Experience with IT security best practices and tools. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

·       Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

·       Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

 

Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.

Role Location: Remote

Compensation Range: $65,000-$98,000

 

 

Benefits

Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as the following Company-paid Employee Only benefits: basic life insurance, accidental death and disability insurance, and short- and long-term disability benefits. Regular employees may purchase additional voluntary short-term disability benefits, and participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA) as well as a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for healthcare, dependent child care, and/or commuting expenses as allowable under IRS guidelines. Benefits offerings vary in Puerto Rico.

Full-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year) and are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) program with employer matching. All US employees who work in a state or locality with more generous paid sick leave benefits than specified here will receive the benefit of those sick leave laws.
