UIC Science Field Support Technician
Summary:
UIC Science provide field support for scientists, military, and media clients working in and around Utqiaġvik. UIC Science operates a rental fleet of snowmachines, ATVs, and trucks, as well as three lodging facilities, warehouse/staging space, and laboratory space. The Field Support Technician will work as part of the UIC Science field operations team during peak season to manage fleet rentals, building maintenance, and general support tasks as needed.

Required Experience:
Previous maintenance or laborer experience strongly preferredRemote hunting or camping being out on the ice or land ResponsibilitiesPhysical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to 50 poundsMust be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of timeMust be able to twist, bend and squat periodicallyMust be able to work outdoors in all conditionsUS Fish and Wildlife Service Bear Guard certification strongly preferred Qualifications
Authorized Driver Requirement Authorized Driver Requirement: Employee must have a valid driver’s license and three (3) year clean driving record. Employee must follow all Authorized Driver Policy and Procedures regarding approved vehicle usage.
Drug and Alcohol Testing Programs
All employees must pass Non-DOT pre-employment drug screening and follow all UIC Non-DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing Program guidelines and requirements.
If working on a DOT project, employees must pass a DOT pre-employment drug screening and follow all DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing Program requirements.
