Field Trainer - Civil

SUMMARY  

Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced Civil Field Trainer to join a dynamic team impacting the entire organization! In this pivotal role, you will coordinate, instruct, and manage both classroom and field activities for the Mortenson Registered Apprenticeship Program. As a subject matter expert in the civil curriculum, you will also serve as the primary contact for Operating Group leadership teams involved in the Apprenticeship Program.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

Deliver civil focused (survey, equipment operations, and similar) NCCER modules, assessments and performance profiles Partner with project leadership and project-based instructors to schedule classroom instruction, online assessments and civil focused field evaluations Ensure tools, books and other necessary resources are available for all sessions Manage, mentor and audit project-based instructors, performance evaluators and proctors Manage master training calendar for the Operating Group Collaborate with project team to create project training plans including schedules and selection of civil apprentices Partner with Apprenticeship Program Manager and HR Coordinator on completion, tracking and storage of required civil documentation Utilize effective presentation skills including creative training techniques and adult learning techniques Actively participate in civil subject matter review committees with NCCER and other organizations Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

Advanced communication, presentation and classroom training facilitation skills Knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional methodology Licensed, journey or technician-level knowledge and skills in the survey, equipment operations, or similar trade (at least four years) Successful completion of NCCER ICTP  Exposure to OSHA training requirements Ability to travel up to 75% Current driver’s license  Bilingual English/Spanish fluency preferred

The base pay range for this role is $75,000 - $101,000. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%). 

 

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
