The Field Training Officer plans and coordinates on-the-job training (OJT) activities for all new officers, in accordance with policy, procedures, and contractual requirements. This position works with Human Resources, Learning and Development and Security teams to determine schedules and assignments of staff during the OJT phase of training. This role will monitor progress of trainees and recommends additional training where needed. This role will also evaluates effectiveness of OJT and makes recommendations for individual and overall program improvement.
Qualifications:
High School diploma, GED certification or equivalent is required. Two years of experience in a criminal justice field is required. One year of corrections experience, including the care and custody of inmates/offenders is required. Experience with correctional/detention training or classroom instruction is preferred. Strong organizational, interpersonal skills, and ability to interact with staff at all levels required. Experience in Microsoft Office or other similar software applications is required.
