Summary
Drives crew associates to and from 17 & 21 week vaccinations and bird movements. Observes field crew associates and report any issues to immediate supervisor. Executes weekly schedule to meet all requirements concerning vaccinations, blood sampling, pull drag swabs, deliver blood to state lab, mailing blood and swabs to the company's lab, accurately complete and file paperwork, and participate in movement of birds,
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for having the proper amount and type of vaccines needed and all necessary equipment and supplies needed the day before the crew leaves to go out to the iob site.
Supervises and ensures crew associates are following all program stipulations during all types ofjob activities, such as, bird housings, movements, vaccinations, beak trimming.
Observes all job activities of the crew and report deficiencies, communicates all findings and recommendations to supervisor.
Follows written programs and instruction while recording data and turning in reports on schedule to supervisor.
Follows the schedule for vaccinations, blood testing, and drag swabs. Maintains accurate records of all activities.
Follows all bio-security, poultry welfare and safety requirements of the company and ensures that all other crew associates do the same.
Physically performs all duties required in blood testing, vaccinating, moving chickens according to written programs.
Drives company vehicle to and from farms and state lab.
Responsible for all cleaning and maintenance of eauioment/vehicles for crew work.
Minimum EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred
Experience Requirements0 - 6 months experience. Knowledge of animal husbandry programs required. Valid class C drivers license.
Experience PreferredReading, writing and math skills preferred. Recordkeeping, scheduling and supervisory skills preferred.
Environmental Factors and Physical RequirementsExposure to all seasonal weather conditions. Exposure to a significant amount of airborne dust, feathers, manure ammonia gas up to 200 ppm. and humidity up to 100%. Various chemicals, vaccines, and drugs, to be covered in MSDS and hazardous communications training. Most frequently would be Sol-poultry disinfectant and bleach. To move through mud, manure, dirt, grass, metal grading, concrete floors (wet or dry) with a significant amount of bending, twisting, stooping and lifting (up to 75 pounds) 4 miles daily. To cross up/over 30" slats and stoops.
Climbing up to 8' onto truck beds and cages.
