As a Fieldwork - Officer you will be focusing on the delivery of transport solutions for passengers, across Lincolnshire, accessing Education, Social Care and Demand Responsive Transport. This will take the form of:
Safeguarding. This is the action we take to promote the welfare of children and adults at risk from harm or abuse and it forms an overarching link to everything we do within the Fieldwork Team Passenger Risk Assessments, which involve liaising with all stakeholders; schools, medical professionals, social care teams etc to tailor transport to the requirement of the individual when required. On-site Pick Up-Drop Off (PUDO) point assessments (where a vehicle collects/drops a passenger) Route Suitability Assessments (the walk from a passengers’ home address to a school or PUDO point) You will also be responsible for on-site inspections at education and social care establishments to ensure contract compliance of taxi & bus suppliers undertaking LCC contracts. This may be in a Lone Working capacity and could involve difficult conversations if there is a breach of contract that needs to be addressed on-site.A background in Health & Safety/Risk Assessment is desirable, but not essential because full training will be given.
Extensive travel across the county is expected for the successful applicant to undertake the role. Your work base will be Lincoln, though a hybrid approach to working, is in operation.
There will be times when early starts are required for some of the inspections along with the occasional weekend work.

Transport Services is part of the Council’s Place Directorate and is responsible for developing and delivering passenger transport solutions across Lincolnshire for more than 20,000 passengers daily.
We enable passengers to travel to and from school and other places of education, for social care reasons and we provide a demand responsive CallConnect bus service to connect communities across the county.
The team also manages the county’s local bus and community transport network, alongside supporting the development of Sustainable Travel.
