Serves as project coordinator on music programs. Exercises direct supervision over assigned staff. Work Location 115 Plaza de Armas San Antonio, TX 78205 Work Schedule + 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday - Friday + Schedule will include some nights, weekends and travel as needed Essential Job Functions + Performs strategic planning, development and marketing work to support and increase the film, television and multimedia production and other creative industry growth in San Antonio. + Develops, administers, and coordinates all aspects of public relations and marketing programs including social media management to promote San Antonio’s film industry and actively recruit film, television, media, gaming productions, etc. + Serves as media spokesperson when needed. + Serves as a resource to connect productions to local crew, vendors, locations, housing, government liaison services and film-related services, equipment, and other film-related service. + Updates website pages and maintains accurate databases of local crew, production services, facilities, locations, active inquires and other resources. + Presents briefings to leadership, organizations, stakeholders and civic groups. + Oversees, manages planning of, and participates in industry panels, conferences, festivals and education events. + Manages film festival funding and incentives programs including application, review, and disbursement process. Fields and vets incentive inquiries to determine qualified applicants. + Liaises and coordinates with other film commissions, economic developers, tourism offices, business groups and community members to implement film-friendly policies and practices. + In collaboration with staff, executes programs as part of the Department’s music efforts. + May supervise, train, and evaluate staff, with continuous conversations, listening and communicating through various methods. + Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required. Job Requirements + Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university. A Master's Degree is highly desirable. + Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in planning, business, finance, or a related field. + Two (2) years of supervisory experience. + Valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License. Preferred Qualifications + Five (5) years of experience in professional film, media and/or music industries. + Association of Film Commissioners International certification or training. + Experience with administrating financial incentive programs and economic development practices. + Expert level knowledge of industry resources and practices. Applicant Information + Unless otherwise stated, applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience in order to meet the minimum requirements of the job. One year of full-time experience is defined as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities + Knowledge of administrative and management procedures, practices and techniques. + Knowledge of research techniques, methods, and procedures. + Knowledge of presentation requirements and methods. + Knowledge of accounting methods, practices, and procedures. + Knowledge of public administration practices and local government issues. + Knowledge of film industry and financial incentives. + Skill in utilizing a personal computer and associated software programs. + Ability to operate a computer and other basic office equipment. + Ability to analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions, and implement recommendations in support of goals. + Ability to prepare clear and concise administrative and financial reports. + Ability to interpret and apply Federal, State and local policies, procedures, laws, and regulations. + Ability to implement policies and procedures. + Ability to communicate clearly and effectively. + Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, management and the general public. + Ability to perform all the physical requirements of the position, with or without accommodations. + Working conditions are primarily inside an office environment with occasional exposure to hazardous materials, bodily fluids, infectious diseases and unfavorable fumes, vapors and odors.
